Damini Kane is a writer of speculative fiction from Mumbai, India, and a recent graduate of the University of British Columbia’s prestigious Creative Writing MFA programme. She has been published in literary journals, online and in print, such as the Lakeview Journal, The Purple Breakfast Review and Muse India.  Her speculative fiction has been featured in the award-winning fantasy fiction podcast, Podcastle. She has also spoken at the ISO Break reading series by Asia Pacific Writers and Translators (APWT), hosted by Tim Tomlinson from the New York Writers’ Workshop. She was awarded the second place prize in the Joy Kogawa Award for Literature, for her piece, Words Like Frost. 

A genre-curious writer, Damini enthusiastically dabbles in nonfiction, comics, game writing, and screenplay as well.
