“I went from being able to inhale 800-page books in 3 days to struggling to finish slim paperbacks. I don’t know when or how this happened, but every book I read for the last several years has felt like an event.”
I inhaled this book over a long weekend and I’m currently suffering a book hangover. I can’t stop thinking about this novel, and don’t intend to any time soon. Here’s my spoiler-free review.
What I found fascinating about this book (aside from everything else, because it’s brilliant), was the three personalities of the main character.
What struck me the most about this book is the tone. In this post, I wanted to examine how the tone influences the characters and how that enhances the reading experience.
Life has been chaotic but at least there are books to read.
Ultimately this is a story about the one that got away. The book wonders what could have been. Therein lies its tragedy.
My favourite books from January to March 2020!
